My name is Christy, owner of Lake Cities Pet Sitting, and I live in the peaceful city of Corinth. I want to personally welcome you to the Lake Cities Pet Sitting blog and website.
I started Lake Cities Pet Sitting in July of 2013, but I am not new to the pet industry. As a child I was fortunate to have parents who welcomed my pet snakes, tarantulas, hamsters, lizards, turtles, ferrets, hedgehogs, cats and dogs into their home. They weren’t always as thrilled about some of the pets as I was, but they accepted them. I later managed pet stores for several years. I worked for a mom and pop pet store as well as franchises and a large corporate pet store. I also worked for a tropical fish wholesaler. While managing the pet stores I gained a vast amount of knowledge about various breeds of pets and their care. I absolutely love pets, but did decide to move into a different career path for awhile. After ten years of working in a different field, I have decided to go back into a pet related field. I truly love working with animals of all types and I am excited to be working with animals again.
Lake Cities Pet Sitting is dedicated to providing excellent care for your pets, but I want to do more than that. While working in the pet stores I often encountered pet owners who had been misinformed about the basic care needs of their pets that they had recently purchased at other locations. This often resulted in the pet owners coming to me for advice after learning that their pet would grow much larger than they expected or after their pet became ill from improper care. I received calls from people who were desperate to rehome their animals on an almost weekly basis. I believe that proper education about pets can prevent this to a large extent.
My goal in keeping this pet blog is to not only highlight my pet sitting business, but also to keep pet parents informed about pet related news and events. My blog will include care information, breed highlights and rescue information for those who are considering adding a furry, feathered or scaled family member. If you have a specific topic that you would like to read about, please let me know. If you would like your rescue group or event to be featured on my blog, please contact me for more information.by
